SPPU received an overall score of 50.6, performing well in the Staff with PhD (87.2) and Faculty-Student Ratio (64.2) categories. However, the university has only 2% foreign students, which continues to keep its international presence low. Its ranking trend has fluctuated, from 210 in 2024 to 173 in 2025, and down again this year.

Meanwhile, Symbiosis International (Deemed) University has taken the lead among Pune-based institutions by securing Rank 200. The university scored 52.2 overall, including 57.3 in Staff with PhD, 47.6 in Faculty-Student Ratio, and 36.3 in Academic Reputation. Its student mix included 11% international students, the highest proportion among city institutions.

Symbiosis has shown steady improvement over the years, climbing from 216 in 2025 and 261–270 in 2024. Its stronger student profile and faculty ratios have helped it surpass other universities in the city this year.

Among other Pune institutions in the list, Dr D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri stood at 569, while Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University was placed in the 1001–1100 band, slipping from its 851–900 range in the 2025 rankings.
