Pune:  The Ministry of Railways has introduced a new weekly superfast train between Pune and Kazipet. The train was flagged off from Pune railway station on Friday by Anil Shirole, Member of Parliament, Pune.  Earlier, an inaugural service of this express train was flagged off by Hansraj Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs, through a video conference from Nagpur on the same day.

A special function was organised at Pune Station where Anil Shirole was chief guest and Milind Deouskar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager,  Prafull Chandra, Senior DCM Krishnath Patil and other railway officials were present. Milind Deouskar said it is a popular route and within one day the train is booked to its full capacity.

Shirole said,  “It is very useful for Punekars as they visit four important places like Shirdi, Shegaon, Tadoba and Warora from where we can go to Baba Amate’s place Anandwan. I am thankful to Hansraj Ahir, Minister of State for Home Affairs, for his tremendous efforts for finally introducing this train after his constant efforts for the past 10 years.”

Many passengers have welcomed this initiative. The introduction of this train has brought relief to a lot of Puneites. The passengers, especially from Chandrapur, have welcomed the move. They earlier had to take another train or bus from Wardha.
