Pune, 5th july 2025: During a recent visit to the IT hub of Hinjewadi, MP Supriya Sule sharply criticized the state government, PMRDA, and MIDC for the area’s poor infrastructure and unresolved civic issues. She stressed that the local gram panchayat is incapable of handling such a large-scale urban zone and cannot be held responsible for the mess.
Following a review meeting in Hinjewadi on Friday, Sule demanded that Chief Minister should immediately convene a high-level meeting with district officials, PMRDA, MIDC, local MPs, MLAs, and representatives of civil society. She emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to bring lasting solutions to the growing problems in the region.
Supriya Sule toured Hinjewadi and the nearby Maan area, engaging with residents, IT professionals, and local administrative officers. Citizens raised concerns over issues ranging from daily traffic gridlocks to poor road conditions, insufficient public transport, and a lack of basic urban amenities.
Taking swift action, Sule made on-the-spot phone calls to relevant authorities, issuing direct instructions to address several complaints. She assured the public that she would continue to press for accountability and bring attention to the negligence shown by planning authorities in one of Maharashtra's largest IT corridors.
Over the past several months, local media has consistently reported on the traffic chaos and infrastructure breakdown in Hinjewadi. Sule acknowledged these reports, reinforcing that the situation demands urgency and a unified administrative response.
