Pune, 21 June 2025: Baramati MP Supriya Sule has appealed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to establish an independent authority to tackle long-pending infrastructure problems in Pune’s Hinjewadi region, which includes the prominent Rajiv Gandhi IT Park as well as the rapidly expanding areas of Maan and Marunji.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Sule expressed concern over the constant delays that thousands of residents and IT professionals face while trying to get basic civic issues resolved. She pointed out that overlapping jurisdictions of multiple agencies make grievance redressal a tedious and frustrating task for the public.

“Citizens are forced to approach various bodies like Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Pune Municipal Corporation, Metro, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Mahavitaran (MSEDCL), and even the police just to get routine problems fixed. This wastes people’s time and causes significant mental stress,” Sule stated.

She suggested that an independent authority dedicated solely to the Hinjewadi region and its surrounding localities would streamline the entire process and ensure accountability. To make this body effective, Sule has demanded the appointment of a senior and capable officer to head it.

Hinjewadi, home to one of Maharashtra’s largest IT hubs, continues to struggle with challenges like severe traffic congestion, inconsistent power supply, lack of reliable public transport, and poor waste management. These issues persist despite the region’s rapid development and growing population.

Sule has urged the Chief Minister to take serious cognizance of the situation and consider setting up this proposed authority to provide timely solutions and relief to the affected citizens and businesses.
