Pune: The PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship (JBC) turned out to be an impressive affair for trainees of Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA) as they won five out of ten titles in respective categories at the event which was held here at the PDMBA Modern Sports Complex.

In the Under-13 Boys Singles final match, NKBA’s Vedant Natu defeated academy mate Aditya Tripathi 14-15, 15-13, 15-13.

In the Under-13 Girls Singles final, Riddhima Sahrawat from NKBA got past Mrunal Sonar as the score read 15-12,15-10.

The Under-15 Boys Singles final action was also an all-NKBA affair which witnessed Yashraj Kadam beat Aadya Parasnis 15-10, 15-7 to walk home with the title.

Meanwhile NKBA’s Shreya Bhosale defeated Riya Sheth 15-9, 15-6 in the Under-15 Girls Singles battle.

In the Under-17 Girls Singles category, Shreya Bhosale continued with her fine form beating Nehal Prabhune 15-12,15-9.

In the Under-17, Boys Singles action Yash Raut from NKBA lost to Prathmesh Kulkarni 10-15, 3-15.

The Under-11 Boys Singles fight saw Avadhut Kadam going down to Rajas Pingle 9-15, 6-15.
