Parmeet, Jay, Shivam, Aniruddha advance with contrasting wins

Pune: Parmeet Singh Bhatti, Jay Dixit, Shivam Ali, Aniruddha Navin registered contrasting wins over their respective opponents before making the second round of the boys singles in the Solaris Club All India Ranking (Under-16) Championship Series Tennis Tournament 2018 at the Mayur Colony, here on Saturday.

Parmeet defeated Keyur Mehtre 8-3 while in a close encounter, Shivam Ali had to dig into his reserves and wait until the 14th game to put aside the challenge of Soham Bharamgonde 8-6. In contrast was Vaishnav Shinde who gave Nilay Trivedi no chance in his encounter and won 8-0.

Among the others to have it easy were Paritosh Pawar who downed Dinesh Patil 8-1 in the boys section, while Navi Mumbai’s Parmeet Singh Bhatti had it easy against Keyur Mehtre with 8-3 score-line.
