Vikramaditya wins FIDE Rating Chess title

Pune: International Master Vikramaditya Kulkarni won the 15th Shri Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess tournament here on Sunday. 

The 36-year-old Dombivali player Kulkarni ,who played with black pieces, started with Reverse Benoni Opening and drew Harikrishnan AR from Tamil Nadu in 30 moves. He ended the event with 8 points in 9 rounds.

Kulkarni got Rs.1,00,000 first prize, while Sammed Shete of Kolhapur scored a win over Kiran Panditrao and finished second to pocket Rs.60,000 prize money.
