Vincent’s Beats Army PS vVa Sudden Death To Win Title

Pune: Dilraj Rajpal scored the winning goal in sudden death to help St Vincent’s High School beat Army Public School 5-4 and win the Boy’s Under-17 title in the Zilla Parishad football tournament here on Monday.

Both the teams were locked goalless at the end of the regulation time forcing the match into tie-breaker, which too failed to break the deadlock. The teams were tied 2-2 after Parth Raut and Emar Adam scored for Vincent’s and Tanay Kadam and Vikas Kharat for the Army School.

Hitesh Yadav put Vincent’s ahead in sudden death before the Army school leveled throigh Rutvik Roy. 

Next up for Dilraj Rajpal and he made no mistake in finding the net but Arjit Sharma of Army School failed to find the target.

Boys Under-17:

Final: St Vincent’s HS 0 beat Army Public School Ghorpadi 0. Tie-break: 5-4.
Semifinal: St Vincent’s HS 3 (Emar Adam 8th, 24th, Mithil Navlakha 28th) bt JN Petit HS 1 (Aniket Sathe 13th).
Quarterfinal: JN Petit High School (Azlan Inamdar 18th) beat Delhi Public School 0.
Girls Under-19:

The Bishop’s Co-ed School Kalyaninagar 4 (Sheron B 7th, Vaibhavi Medh 12th, Ekta Reddy 18th, Shivanjali Pandit 24th) beat BMCC College 0.
The Bishop’s School Camp 2 (Durga Shevale 6th, Tania Fakih 19th) beat Ness Wadia College 0.
Quarterfinal: Ness Wadia College 2 (Riya Rajput 18th, Ishwari Pachnoor 24th) beat Saint Mary’s College for Girls 0.
