As September approaches, anticipation is building around Apple's next iPhone launch. While the company has yet to make an official announcement, multiple reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could debut alongside Apple's first foldable iPhone. Leaks have pointed to a new A20 Pro chip, camera upgrades, fresh colour options and possible price increases.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro Launch Date And Price In India (Expected)
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup on September 9, with sales likely beginning on September 18. Reports also suggest the Pro models could see a price increase of around Rs 10,000, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at approximately Rs 1,44,900 and the Pro Max at Rs 1,59,900.
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is also rumoured to launch in a new Dark Cherry finish, alongside Light Blue, Silver and Dark Grey options. The smartphone is expected to be Apple's A20 Pro processor, reportedly built using TSMC's 2nm process. The chip is tipped to deliver better AI performance, faster graphics and improved power efficiency.
In terms of design, the iPhone manufacturer is likely to retain its signature flat-edged aesthetic while introducing minor refinements. Reports suggest a more streamlined rear panel, a marginally larger camera array, and a slightly thicker frame to house a higher-capacity battery and an enhanced vapor chamber cooling setup.
Performance: The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to be powered by Apple's A20 Pro chip, built on TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process. The chip is projected to deliver around 15% faster performance and up to 30% better power efficiency compared to the A19 Pro in the current iPhone 17 Pro. RAM is reported at 12GB, with the additional capacity aimed at supporting expanded Apple Intelligence features.
Camera: The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a triple 48MP rear camera system while introducing a variable-aperture main sensor (f/1.4 to f/2.4), a first for an iPhone. The setup is also rumoured to include a brighter telephoto lens, a new stacked image sensor, an upgraded 24MP front camera and a redesigned Camera Control button with pressure-sensitive controls.
Battery: Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a 5,391–5,577mAh battery, one of the largest ever in an iPhone, with a slightly thicker and heavier design.
