Apple might finally enter the foldable phone market, as everyone has long speculated that the company was avoiding it and the reason has been rumored to be crease control. This year, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone Fold, its first foldable device, featuring a nearly crease-free display reportedly supplied by Samsung.
A recent leak from China claims to reveal the precise specifications of the crease. It is reportedly less than 0.15mm, with a fold angle of under 2.5 degrees. Therefore, while it won't be a completely crease-free folding screen on the iPhone Fold, it will be very close.
The iPhone Fold is speculated to be unveiled in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, whereas the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to launch together in the spring of 2027.
The iPhone Fold is anticipated to feature a camera island similar to the iPhone Air with two sensors (as shown in the image above), and for authentication, it will incorporate Touch ID into the power button on the right side of the frame.
