Apple has cemented India as a key manufacturing hub for its products, especially the iPhone. In 2025, the company exported over $50 billion worth of iPhones from the country, confirmed Union Minister of Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnav. The milestone shows India’s growing role in electronics manufacturing under the Make in India initiative.
On X, Ashwini Vaishnav confirmed a report from the Economic Times. He confirmed that Apple crossed the massive milestone of $50 billion in just iPhone exports from India. That is roughly Rs 4.51 lakh crores when converted to INR. Vaishnav wrote, "In a major milestone for PM @narendramodi Ji's 'Make in India' and our quest to become a producer economy, Apple ships $50 billion worth of mobile phones in 2025."

The PLI scheme has boosted India’s electronics growth, drawing global giants like Apple and Samsung. Samsung shipped nearly $17 billion worth of devices from FY 2021–25, while Apple’s expansion fueled major domestic growth. India now hosts five iPhone factories, three by Tata, two by Foxconn, supported by a supply chain of around 45 companies, including many MSMEs.
Ashwini Vaishnav spotlighted India’s booming electronics sector, pointing to impressive growth in both production and exports. "Electronics production has increased 6 times in last 11 years. And electronics exports have grown 8 times under PM Modi Ji's focused leadership," he noted, underscoring the country’s rise as a global electronics powerhouse.
