The company has unveiled a neural wristband, a sleek wristband that works like a controller. designed to work with its Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, enabling users to perform actions such as sending messages through subtle hand movements. This new Meta Neural Band wristband is the controlling device, and these glasses represent Meta's most significant effort in the wearable AI-driven hardware sector, as it seeks to rival Google and Apple in the international smart glasses competition.
The device employs electromyography (EMG) technology to capture signals from the brain to the hand, enabling users to control apps through slight hand movements. It is water-resistant, boasts an 18-hour battery life, and resembles a screenless Fitbit.
Although Meta's latest glasses are not as sophisticated as the Orion AR glasses it hinted at last year, they mark the company's initial significant commercial venture into smart eyewear.
