Pune railway division gets Rs 600 cr in Union Budget

Pune: The Union government has given substantial funds for the development of railway infrastructure in Pune Railway division in Union Budget 2020-21. The Centre has allocated Rs 600.5 crore, of which Rs 2 crore will be used to develop Hadapsar as a satellite terminal to release the load on Pune station.

However, the Central Railway (CR) gets a net plan outlay of Rs 4,399 crore for 2020-21, which is an increase of 2.16 per cent from the previous financial year. In 2019-20, CR had got Rs 4,306 crore. For passenger amenities, CR got Rs 295.6 crore, last year it was allocated Rs 284 crore. CR got a total allocation of Rs 7,638 crore for 2020-21.

According to officials from the Pune railway division, the division got a major allocation for the development of double line of Pune-Miraj-Londa, Hadapsar satellite terminal, extension of Pune railway station platform and road overbridge.

Pune-related allocation

  •  Baramati-Lonand (54 km) - Rs 3 crore
  •  Pune-Miraj-Londa doubling (467 km) - Rs 555 crore
  •  Hadapsar - Development as satellite terminal - Rs 2 crore
  •  Pune - Extension of the platform for 24/26 coaches and removal of DDS - Rs 1 crore
  •  Pune Division - Interlocking of level crossing gates (13 Nos) - Rs 2 crore
  •  Pune-Daund - Road over the bridge in lieu of level crossing No. 3A at Manjari - Rs 6 crore
  •  Pune-Miraj - Subways in lieu of manned level crossing No.54/A, 58, 59, 87 & 123 - Rs 3.48 crore
  •  Pune - Widening of the foot overbridge by 12 m & provision of the ramp in 2nd foot-overbridge at   Mumbai end - Rs 11 lakh
  •  Satara - Raising of platform No.1, 2 & 3, the extension of cover over platform etc. - Rs 27.97 lakh
