Pune: The Mundhwa police have released sketches of two suspects involved in a daring robbery at Arihant Jewelers on BT Kawade Road. The incident occurred on December 8 at around 9:30 p.m., leaving the shop owner injured and valuables stolen.

The victim, Walchand Achaldas Oswal (77), was alone in his shop, tallying the day’s accounts when two unidentified men entered. The robbers partially lowered the shop's shutter to avoid being noticed. One of them pointed a pistol at Oswal and sprayed an unknown substance on his face to disable him.

While one robber was stealing gold ornaments, Oswal attempted to resist, prompting the second robber to pull out an iron rod. The robber struck Oswal on his left shoulder, warned him to stay silent, and continued looting. The robbers escaped with 35 grams of gold jewelry valued at ₹2.45 lakh.

Investigation Progress

Although nine days have passed since the crime, the police have not yet apprehended the suspects. Based on the victim’s description and CCTV footage from the shop, the police have created and released sketches of the suspects.

The authorities have urged citizens to come forward with any information regarding the suspects and report it to the nearest police station. The investigation is ongoing, and police teams are actively working on leads.
