Pune Crime Branch raided a massage parlor in Aundh, uncovering a prostitution racket operating under the guise of spa services. The raid led to the detention of nine women, including four from Thailand. The owner, manager, and two others have been booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act at Chatuhshrungi Police Station.
Acting on a tip-off, Inspector Ajay Waghmare of Crime Branch Unit Four received intelligence about suspected illegal activities at Murkute Plaza, Aundh. To verify the claims, an undercover officer posed as a customer and confirmed the ongoing prostitution activities.
A police team then raided the premises and found four Thai nationals along with five women from Maharashtra and Gujarat being exploited under false promises of financial gain.
A case has been registered against the massage parlor’s owner, the manager, and two associates under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Nikhil Pingale, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajendra Mulik, Inspectors Vijayanand Patil and Ajay Waghmare, Assistant Inspector Narendra Patil, and Sub-Inspector Vaibhav Magdum, along with their team.
