Pune: On Thursday (December 5) afternoon, a reckless driving incident caused chaos on Baner-Sus Road near Nanavare Chowk, as a 19-year-old driver collided with five vehicles in succession.

Although no injuries were reported, significant property damage occurred, including damage to a two-wheeler and four other vehicles.

The driver, identified as Ritvik Shyam Bansode, was driving an MG Gloster car (MH-12 WH-9112) when the incident occurred.

Baner Police have detained Bansode, and a case has been registered against him for reckless and negligent driving.

According to Sub-Inspector Avinash Karad, the driver works as a caretaker for a private individual. Around 3:30 PM, Ritvik was driving to purchase milk when he negligently collided with a vehicle. Startled by the crash, he attempted to flee, only to hit a second vehicle.

When local bystanders tried to stop him and requested him to step out of the car, he refused. Agitated, some individuals in the crowd pelted stones at the car, shattering its windows.

In a desperate bid to escape, Ritvik drove the car at high speed toward Sus Road, where he struck yet another car from behind, causing extensive damage.

The situation escalated until police intervened, detaining Ritvik and controlling the scene. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
