Pune: In a shocking incident, a young man lost his life after being abandoned by his friend following a motorcycle accident. The rider, identified as Santosh Nagnath Bhise (25), fled the scene after leaving the injured victim, Krishna Laxman Sasane, in a school ground instead of taking him to the hospital. The lack of timely medical treatment led to Sasane’s death. The Bibwewadi police have filed a case against Bhise under relevant sections.

The accident occurred in the early hours of December 25 near Pushpa Mangal Hall in Bibwewadi. According to police reports, Bhise and Sasane, who were friends and relatives, had consumed alcohol before the incident.

While returning home, Bhise was riding the motorcycle, with Sasane as the pillion rider. Near Pushpa Mangal Hall, Bhise, riding on the wrong side of the road, collided with a WagonR car. Sasane sustained severe injuries to his head, elbows, knees, and right foot, making urgent medical care essential.

Instead of seeking help, Bhise abandoned the severely injured Sasane in the open ground of Chintamanrao Deshmukh Urdu Primary School and fled the scene. Sasane’s condition worsened, and he succumbed to his injuries. The following morning, his body was discovered by the police in the school ground.

Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewale stated that CCTV footage from the Bibwewadi Police Station helped reconstruct the events leading to the accident. The investigation confirmed that the deceased was involved in the accident caused by Bhise. Consequently, Bhise has been charged for his actions, which led to Sasane’s death due to negligence.
