During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde highlighted India’s growing presence in the information technology sector. “BSNL had fallen behind in the past, but now it is moving forward. The achievements in the last ten years under Prime Minister Modi are historic, and the next ten years will see even more progress. What other nations struggled to achieve, India has succeeded in doing,” he said.

Chief Minister Fadnavis added that 24,680 villages in Maharashtra will benefit from the 4G network. He referenced former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision, saying, “Communication and connectivity are key to development. Just as roads reached six lakh villages, now digital networks will connect every village.” He emphasized that even though these are 4G towers, they are equipped to support 5G, and India will not lag behind in 6G technology.

Fadnavis also announced efforts to digitize services. Citizens will soon access all 1,100 services online, including through WhatsApp, reducing the need to visit government offices. Within two months, 90% of commonly used services will be digitized. The system will track the status of each service, allowing citizens to file complaints if their requests are delayed.

He praised the financial turnaround of BSNL, noting that the company has moved from losses to generating profits. “With support from the central and state governments, BSNL will receive a new lease of life,” Fadnavis said, highlighting India’s commitment to self-reliance and technological advancement.
