Pune: Teja, a canine who served the Pune Police Force's Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) for 10 years, has officially retired. A special ceremony was organized by the BDDS at their Shivajinagar office to honor Teja's exceptional contributions to the force.
Over the past decade, Teja played a vital role in the detection of explosives, safeguarding high-profile dignitaries, and assisting in criminal investigations. His service included security arrangements for events such as the G-20 Summit, visits by the President, Prime Minister, and other VIPs, as well as citywide inspections at sensitive locations.
Early Life and Training
Born on January 11, 2015, Teja was inducted into the Pune Police BDDS as a pup. He received six months of intensive training at the CID office in Shivajinagar, equipping him with the skills needed to detect explosives and assist in investigations. After completing his training, Teja became an integral part of the squad, serving tirelessly for the next decade.

Teja's career highlights include participation in major public events like the Ganesh Festival and Palkhi processions, routine inspections at critical city locations, and active involvement in solving serious crimes. His efforts ensured the safety of not just dignitaries but also the general public.
