Pune: Punekars bid an energetic farewell to the outgoing 2024 year and embraced the New Year 2025 with midnight celebrations. The city came alive with excitement as residents participated in various activities despite it being a working day. Many left their workplaces early to prepare for the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Celebrations Across the City

In homes, housing societies, and among friends, people gathered to enjoy feasts and dances, marking the end of the year with joy. The streets and public squares witnessed vibrant celebrations, with young groups dancing to music and enjoying the festive spirit.

Food enthusiasts had a delightful evening, with restaurants and hotels packed to capacity. Many prominent hotels organized special programs to attract revelers. Bars and wine shops enhanced the festive mood with decorative lighting.

Security Measures in Place

To ensure smooth celebrations, Pune police implemented strict security measures. Barricades were placed on major roads and sensitive areas to control traffic and ensure safety. Police conducted vehicle inspections and tested drivers for alcohol consumption, maintaining a watchful eye throughout the city.
