Deccan Police Arrest Thief Who Stole Mobile Phones from Businessman and Pedestrian

The accused, identified as Habib Abalu Irani, has been involved in multiple mobile thefts in the Deccan, Yerawada and Baner areas.

Pune: The Deccan Police arrested a thief who stole a mobile phone from a businessman on Prabhat Road and fled the scene. The accused, identified as Habib Abalu Irani, has been involved in multiple mobile thefts in the Deccan and Baner areas. The police successfully apprehended Irani and seized four mobile phones from him.

The theft occurred when Irani, a 24-year-old resident of Patil Estate on the Mumbai-Pune Road and Friends Residency in Mumbra, Thane, stole a mobile phone from a businessman on Prabhat Road. The Deccan Police filed a case based on the complaint and began their search for the suspect. After a thorough technical investigation, the police laid a trap and caught Irani.

Upon interrogation, it was revealed that Irani had previously committed similar thefts in other areas, with criminal cases registered against him at Yavat, Lohamarg Police Station, and Hadapsar Police Station. Furthermore, the investigation revealed that Irani had stolen another mobile phone from a pedestrian in the Baner area.

The police seized four mobile phones from Irani and are continuing their investigation into his activities. The arrest was made under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sainath Thombre.

The operation was carried out by Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar, Crime Branch Police Inspector Prasad Raut, and other police officers including Sub-Inspectors Mahesh Bhosale, Ajay Bhosale, Dattatray Sawant, Assistant Constables Dattatray Shinde, Rajendra Marne, Dhanashree Supekar, Gabhale, and Mahesh Shirsath.
