Pune: Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized the need for pub owners and event organizers to adhere to regulations to ensure the city’s residents are not inconvenienced. Addressing concerns over noise pollution and other issues linked to the growing pub culture in the city, Kumar assured citizens that stringent rules are in place to prevent illegal activities.
Speaking at the "Coffee with CP" event, organized by the Police Aarogya Mitra Foundation and Subhashnagar Madivale Colony Mandal, Kumar stated, "While the growing metropolitan culture includes pubs and musical events, they should not disturb the common public. Following recent incidents, guidelines for pub operations and event management have been implemented. It is crucial for organizers to follow these rules, and citizens should remain vigilant during festive periods to ensure compliance."
Metro Work Deadline Set for February 28
Kumar also addressed traffic disruptions caused by the ongoing Shivajinagar-Hinjewadi Metro construction on Ganeshkhind Road. Police have directed Metro authorities to complete the construction by February 28, 2025.
“Barricades on Ganeshkhind Road should be removed, and potholes filled to restore smooth traffic flow. Metro officials must ensure the road is in good condition before proceeding with station construction and other technical tasks,” Kumar added.
The program was attended by Dilip Tikle, who moderated the discussion, along with Manisha and Vinayak Dharane from the Police Aarogya Mitra Foundation.
