Hadapsar: Women Assault Traffic Police Officer with Slippers Over Towing Action

The owners of the vehicle, identified as Balika Suryavanshi and Sangeeta Landge, protested the action and started arguing with Constable Aghav.

Pune: In a shocking incident in Hadapsar, two women allegedly assaulted a traffic police officer with slippers and physically pushed him after he attempted to take action against their improperly parked two-wheeler on a footpath.

The incident took place on Tuesday (January 28) morning around 11 AM in the Gadital area of Hadapsar, when traffic police officials and towing van operators were removing illegally parked vehicles as part of a traffic regulation drive.

According to the police report, Constable Ajinath Aghav, who is posted in the Hadapsar Traffic Department, was on duty when the towing van staff attempted to remove a two-wheeler that had been parked improperly on the footpath.

The owners of the vehicle, identified as Balika Suryavanshi and Sangeeta Landge, protested the action and started arguing with Constable Aghav. The argument quickly escalated, and the two women allegedly assaulted the officer using slippers, pushed him, and also issued threats.

Following the incident, a case has been registered against the two women at Hadapsar Police Station for obstructing a public servant in the execution of his duty.

The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Altaf Shaikh, and further action is expected based on the inquiry.
