Pune: Jejuri’s famous Khandoba Temple has officially implemented a dress code for devotees. The decision, taken by the Shri Martand Dev Sansthan and the Jejuri Temple Trust, comes into effect from Monday (March 10). Under this new rule, devotees will be required to wear traditional Indian attire while visiting the temple for darshan.

The temple trust has issued a clear directive stating that both men and women must avoid wearing revealing or inappropriate outfits while visiting the temple.

Attire such as ripped jeans, Bermuda shorts, short skirts, and other fashionable Western clothing will not be allowed within the temple premises. Only those in traditional Indian clothing will be granted entry.

Temple authorities have emphasized that the purpose of implementing the dress code is to uphold the sanctity of the temple. The decision aligns with similar rules enforced in other temples across Maharashtra, with a total of 528 temples in the state now following a similar dress code policy.

Devotees visiting the temple are urged to adhere to these guidelines and cooperate with temple authorities to maintain the sacred atmosphere of the premises.
