The auction saw intense competition with five bidders participating, each having paid an advance booking amount of Rs 25,000. The bidding escalated rapidly, culminating in the sale of the number for Rs 45 lakh.The number was acquired by Litmus 7 Systems Consulting Private Limited, a software company based in Kochi's Infopark. The owner, Venugopalakrishnan, operates from Lulu Tower in Kakkanad Infopark. The number is reportedly for a Lamborghini Urus SUV, valued at approximately Rs 4.80 crore.
Another highly sought-after number in the same series, KL 07 DG 0001, was sold for Rs 25 lakh. This number was secured by Thomson Sabu, a resident of Piravom.
The willingness to spend lakhs on unique vehicle numbers reflects a growing trend among car enthusiasts and companies seeking to make a statement with their vehicles. The previous highest auction in Kerala was for the number KL 01 CK 0001, which sold for Rs 31 lakh in 2019.
