MSRTC: Swargate, Shivajinagar, Baramati and Indapur Get 10 New Buses Each

The shortage of buses often resulted in inconvenient schedules, while older buses frequently breaking down added to passenger woes.

Pune: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has allocated 40 newly procured buses to the Pune division. These buses aim to enhance travel convenience for passengers, particularly with the summer holiday season approaching.

With a large volume of commuters relying on Pune’s public transport, the existing fleet was struggling to meet demand. The shortage of buses often resulted in inconvenient schedules, while older buses frequently breaking down added to passenger woes. The addition of corporation-owned new buses is expected to reduce disruptions and offer better connectivity.

Speaking on the development, Sachin Shinde, Pune Divisional Transport Officer, ST Corporation, stated: “Pune division has received 40 new buses, which have been distributed among four key depots—Swargate, Shivajinagar, Baramati, and Indapur—each receiving 10 buses. This addition will significantly benefit commuters by easing operational difficulties and ensuring a smoother travel experience.”

Enhanced Public Transport Ahead of Summer Rush

During peak travel seasons like summer vacations, passenger numbers rise sharply, creating overcrowding and service delays. The new buses are expected to help manage this increased demand and improve the overall efficiency of the Pune transport network.

Authorities believe this initiative will provide much-needed relief to commuters while improving scheduling flexibility and reducing unexpected breakdowns.
