Pune: In a heartwarming act of kindness, the family of Ritesh Sitaram Hiwale (47), a resident of Flora Villas Society in Mundhwa, decided to donate his organs following his tragic accidental death. Their noble decision has set an inspiring example for society.

On the evening of March 13, Ritesh went for his usual walk with his friend Sudhir Patil. During their walk, a speeding auto-rickshaw struck him from behind, causing a serious head injury. He was immediately rushed to Noble Hospital, where a team of senior doctors from Pune and Mumbai tried their best to save him. However, due to the severity of his injuries, Ritesh was later declared brain dead.

Despite their grief, Ritesh’s family made the courageous decision to donate his heart, kidney, and eyes, ensuring that his legacy continues to live on by helping others. The organ donation procedure was successfully carried out on March 15 at Noble Hospital. After the procedure, doctors paid tribute to him by offering a floral wreath, recognizing his family’s selfless act.

Ritesh was more than just a resident of Flora Villas Society—he was a respected and active community member who always worked towards solving local issues. He played a key role in addressing the municipal water supply problems, ensuring better services for the neighborhood.

His friends, neighbors, and society members remember him as a kind-hearted and helpful person. "Ritesh was not just a friend; he was like a brother to us. His absence has left a deep void in our lives," said Sudhir Patil and Yogesh Dahale, speaking on behalf of the Flora Villas community.
