A new social media movement called the Oggy Janata Party has emerged as a direct counter to the Cockroach Janta Party, India's fastest-growing satirical political movement, adding a fresh layer of complexity to what has become one of the country's most unusual digital phenomena of 2026.
The OJP draws its name from the animated series Oggy and the Cockroaches, in which Oggy the cat is in perpetual conflict with three mischievous cockroaches named Joey, Marky, and Dee Dee. The choice of name is a direct reference to the CJP, and the OJP's founders have made their intent clear from the outset.
The OJP describes itself as a "parody opposition" to the Cockroach Janta Party and states that its primary mission is to expose the alleged political background of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke. Its official website states that the organisation exists to "kill all kinds of cockroaches. Any roach. Any size. Any species. Dead." Its motto is 'Corruption Mukt Bharat' and it uses the cartoon character Oggy as its mascot.
The OJP's Instagram bio reads: "Not backed by any political party, unlike USA-based 'CJP'", a reference to Dipke's current enrollment at Boston University in the United States.
Beyond criticism, OJP has outlined its own six-point manifesto focused on animal welfare, anti-cruelty measures, and civic reforms, while also taking stances on national political issues. Despite a relatively small following, the group has gained rapid online attention alongside the broader CJP discourse.
OJP alleges that CJP is not politically neutral and maintains indirect links to the Aam Aadmi Party, citing Dipke’s past involvement in campaign and social media work. It also questions endorsements from political figures and associated online connections. Dipke has denied these claims, stating that CJP is an independent youth-driven movement with no political backing.
