New Delhi: A low-intensity blast happened near the Israel Embassy in the high-security central Delhi area. A day after the blast, National Investigation Agency (NIA) inspected the blast site and is likely to take up the case, sources said on Saturday.

On Friday evening, a team of NIA officials visited and collected material from the site. In order to identify the route and the people involved in the blast, the team of NIA officials have also carried out a complete mapping of the area.

The NIA also talked with police officials and the bomb squad from Delhi, according to the reports. The source claimed that NIA is likely to report a case soon in the blast incident.

The police said that at about 5:05 pm on Friday, a low-intensity bomb blasted on the Aurangzeb Road near the Israeli Embassy. In the explosion, the window panels of three vehicles were damaged and no casualties were reported.

The sources said the NIA will also try to ascertain the type of the bomb used in the explosion since they found ammonia nitrate and ball bearing particles from the explosive site.
