Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) organized a seminar and demonstration to address concerns regarding alleged vote tampering in the recent assembly elections.

The event, intended to highlight the possibility of manipulation in electronic voting machines (EVMs), was announced with the expected attendance of party president Sharad Pawar, MP Supriya Sule, and state president Jayant Patil. However, none of the three leaders attended, leaving their absence notable.

Despite this, the seminar proceeded under the leadership of National Women’s Wing President Fauzia Khan, former MLA Vidya Chavan, and city president Prashant Jagtap, among others. Speakers at the seminar emphasized the party's stance that EVM tampering is a reality and announced plans to conduct similar demonstrations across the state to raise public awareness.

Party leaders further stated that their efforts were not limited to addressing their defeat but aimed at preventing similar incidents for others. It was also disclosed that defeated candidates from the party would be filing legal petitions to contest the election outcomes.

During the event, Prashant Jagtap asserted that the election results were pre-determined. “Our defeat is only on paper. The younger generation, being technologically savvy, should be aware of the manipulations carried out by the government,” he said.

The seminar concluded with a firm resolve to continue the fight against EVM tampering and to bring the issue to the forefront of public discourse.
