Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) is likely to announce its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections on October 18 or 19. This announcement is expected to come directly from Sharad Pawar himself.

With the election dates approaching, political activity has increased, and several NCP (SP) leaders, along with aspirants from other parties, were seen gathering at Sharad Pawar’s Modi Baug office in Pune on Tuesday (October 15).

As soon as the election schedule was announced, political parties began speeding up their processes. The NCP (SP), like its allies in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), is holding meetings to finalize its list of candidates and negotiating seat-sharing arrangements with the Congress and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray).

On Tuesday (October 15), Sharad Pawar spent the day at Modi Baug, meeting with potential candidates and discussing electoral strategies.

Among those who visited Pawar was Vilas Lande, representing Ajit Pawar’s NCP, along with Dr. Amol Benke, brother of Junnar MLA Atul Benke. Dr. Benke, however, clarified that the meeting was not political, stating that he attended as a doctor, not to discuss election matters. Madha MP Dhairyasheel Mohite-Patil was also present at Modi Baug on the same day.

Discussions Over Baramati Seat

Sharad Pawar also held discussions with Srinivas Pawar, brother of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

In a separate meeting, Prithviraj Jachak, former BJP leader and past president of the State Sugar Federation, met Pawar. Speculation arose that these discussions could have revolved around the Baramati Assembly seat.
