Pimpri-Chinchwad, recognized as an industrial city, has witnessed repeated instances of Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally. According to police reports, the couple had recently moved to Alandi Phata but had been living in Hyderabad for the last one to two years. Their forged identification documents were verified and confirmed to be fake during the investigation.

A case has been filed at the Chakan police station under various legal provisions, including sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 2023, the Foreigners Act of 1946, the Passport Act of 1967, and the Passport (Entry into India) Rules of 1950.

The couple faces charges under IPC Sections 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 340(2), and 3(5), as well as Section 14(A)(B) and 14(C) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, Section 12(1)(C) of the Passport Act, 1967, and Section 3(A) of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950. These provisions address the illegal entry, residence, and use of forged documents by foreign nationals.

Background and Cautionary Measures

Authorities are urging stricter vigilance as this is not the first instance of Bangladeshi nationals being found residing illegally in the industrial hub of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Law enforcement agencies are stepping up monitoring efforts in hotels, rental properties, and industrial areas to prevent similar occurrences.
