Pune: A physical altercation among cab drivers at Pune Airport’s AeroMall disrupted services for around half an hour late on Thursday (December 12) night. The clash occurred on the third floor of the facility when an argument over vehicle movement escalated into violence.
Reports indicate that three to four drivers collectively assaulted another cab driver, leading to chaos at the scene. The AeroMall administration quickly stepped in to diffuse the situation and notified the police. Law enforcement officers arrived promptly, and a formal complaint was lodged against the drivers responsible for the assault.
The incident briefly disrupted passenger services as some drivers halted operations in protest. However, services resumed within half an hour, and AeroMall authorities confirmed that the disruption had minimal impact on passengers.
In response to the incident, AeroMall management has decided to take firm measures. "The scuffle among cab drivers is unacceptable. Notices and financial penalties will be imposed on those responsible. If such incidents recur, the drivers involved will be banned from entering AeroMall premises," stated Yuvrajsingh Rajput, Vice President of AeroMall.
The administration's swift action aims to maintain a safe and efficient environment for both passengers and service providers.
