Pune Airport Ranks Ninth in India for Passenger Traffic in October 2024

Pune Airport has witnessed a surge in passenger traffic, ranking ninth nationwide for October 2024.

During this period, 8,59,229 passengers utilized Pune Airport for both international and domestic travel, according to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). This milestone highlights the airport's growing importance in India's aviation sector.

The recent inauguration of a new terminal at Pune Airport has significantly contributed to this growth.

With the introduction of enhanced facilities, several airlines have started operations from Pune, leading to an increase in flight frequencies. These improvements have not only benefited passengers but also improved Pune Airport's global ranking from 76th to 74th.

Airport authorities anticipate further growth in passenger traffic. The ongoing runway expansion is expected to enable airlines to offer services on new routes, which will likely improve the airport's national and international rankings.

Pune’s increasing connectivity caters to various segments, including business travel, employment-related movement, and tourism.
