Bhosle, who was travelling with friends, said he felt throat irritation and abdominal pain minutes after sipping from a soft drink can served onboard. His co-traveller Mahesh Gupta alleged they later noticed small metallic pieces inside the can, though the crew took it back and refused to hand it over.

On landing in Pune around 7.50 pm, an ambulance was waiting, and Bhosle was taken to Ruby Hall Clinic. Doctors conducted X-rays and other tests during his three-hour admission before discharging him late at night with advice for follow-up care.

SpiceJet, in a statement, acknowledged the incident and said cabin crew immediately assisted the passenger and alerted the ground team. The airline added that it covered all medical expenses and that X-rays showed no foreign object. According to SpiceJet, doctors recommended an endoscopy, but Bhosle declined.

The airline clarified that the soft drink can was retained for examination by its vendor as part of the investigation.
