Pune: The Pune district administration has unveiled plans to launch a "Single Window" scheme to streamline the process of obtaining permits and approvals for industries and startups. The move aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles while fostering an industry-friendly ecosystem.

Addressing Extortion Concerns

The initiative comes in the wake of recent extortion-related incidents targeting industries in Beed, including a case that escalated to murder. To address such issues, District Collector Jitendra Dudi has emphasized the need to strengthen law and order and instill confidence among entrepreneurs.

“Industries and startups often require approvals from 11 different departments. Seven of these fall under the jurisdiction of the District Collector’s office. Through the ‘Single Window’ system, these approvals will be streamlined to ensure ease of business operations,” said Dudi.

The district administration is also introducing a facility on its official website where business owners can directly file complaints about extortion or harassment. Upon receiving complaints, sub-divisional officers will coordinate with law enforcement to take immediate action against perpetrators.

Focus on Development and Accountability

Dudi has directed officials to ensure regular inspections of schools, health centers, and Anganwadi facilities in the district. Funds will be allocated through the District Planning Committee to address deficiencies, and pending cases will be resolved promptly. Additionally, the District Collector will hold meetings with citizens every Monday to Friday between 3 PM and 5 PM to address grievances.

Timeline and Implementation

The "Single Window" scheme is expected to be operational within a month. This initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to reducing red tape, enhancing governance, and ensuring the safety and well-being of entrepreneurs in the region.

District Collector Jitendra Dudi said, "The ‘Single Window’ scheme will streamline approvals for industries and startups, fostering a supportive ecosystem. Complaints of extortion can be lodged directly, and strict action will follow to address such incidents."
