Pune Fruit Market: Oranges, Lemons, and Papayas Become Costlier; Muskmelon Cheaper

Rates of pineapple, pomegranate, sweet lime, watermelon, strawberries, and sapodilla (chikoo) remained stable.

Pune: The fruit market witnessed an increase in the prices of oranges, papayas, and lemons, while muskmelon and guava prices declined. The rates of pineapple, pomegranate, sweet lime, watermelon, strawberries, and sapodilla (chikoo) remained stable. Flower prices dropped by 10% due to reduced demand.

Fruit Arrivals at Market Yard

  • Sweet lime: 30-40 tons

  • Oranges: 40-50 tons

  • Pomegranates: 20-25 tons

  • Papayas: 10-15 tempos

  • Lemons: 1,500-2,000 bags

  • Watermelon: 80-100 tempos

  • Muskmelon: 30-40 tempos

  • Guava: 300-400 crates

  • Pineapple: 6 trucks

Fruit Prices

  • Lemons (per bag): ₹500-1,800

  • Sweet lime (per 3 dozen): ₹130-280, (per 4 dozen): ₹40-120

  • Oranges (per 10 kg): ₹300-1,000

  • Pomegranates (per kg): ₹80-250 (Bhagwa), ₹10-70 (Arakta), ₹10-40 (Ganesh)

  • Watermelon: ₹7-12 per kg

  • Muskmelon: ₹15-25 per kg

  • Papaya: ₹10-25 per kg

  • Pineapple (per dozen): ₹100-600

Flower Prices Decline by 10%

Due to lower demand, all flower prices dropped by 10%, according to trader Sagar Bhosale.

Flower Prices (Per Kg or Bundle)

  • Marigold: ₹10-20

  • Rose: ₹5-15 (per bundle)

  • Gerbera: ₹20-40

  • Orchid: ₹400-500

  • Carnations: ₹150-200
