The following day, Sunday, August 10, also saw heavy passenger traffic. Ticket counters at various stations reported long queues, while many commuters opted for digital ticket vending machines installed at the stations for quicker access.

The Metro, connecting Pune with Pimpri-Chinchwad via the Purple Line (Pimpri–Swargate) and the Aqua Line (Vanaz–Ramwadi), is gaining steady popularity among commuters. The affordable fares, air-conditioned coaches, and relief from road traffic congestion are drawing more daily riders compared to private cab and app-based transport services.

According to Metro officials, ridership on Sunday was expected to exceed Saturday’s figure, reflecting the growing preference for the service among Pune residents.
