Pune, 16 October 2025: A tragic incident occurred in Pune on Tuesday afternoon when a 61-year-old man reportedly jumped to his death from the new Shivajinagar Court building. The individual, identified as Namdev Yashwant Jadhav from Wadki, Hadapsar, is believed to have taken this extreme step due to his frustration over not receiving justice in a long-standing family and land dispute.

Police reported that the event occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. Jadhav ascended to the rooftop of the new court building and leaped off. Officers quickly arrived at the location after receiving the alert. He was transported to Sassoon General Hospital by ambulance, but he was pronounced dead before any medical intervention could be administered.

Authorities found a handwritten note and his Aadhaar card at the location. In the note, Jadhav discussed a land dispute from 1997 involving his father and brother. He stated that his father sold the land without his approval, depriving him of his rightful ownership. He also mentioned a court order that initially halted his brother's construction on the contested land but was subsequently overturned.

In the note, Jadhav expressed his deep frustration over 'not finding justice anywhere,' stating that the prolonged legal battle had driven him to end his own life.

Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi confirmed the discovery of the suicide note and mentioned that the Shivajinagar Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
