Karve Road: A High-Risk Accident Zone?

This accident adds to the growing list of fatalities on Karve Road. In October 2024, 23-year-old Arti Suresh Manwane was killed when a speeding dumper struck her near Kothrud Bus Stand.

Similarly, on August 19, 2024, retired agricultural officer Sunil Bhaskarrao Deshmukh (60) was fatally hit by a dumper at Ayurved Rasashala Chowk. Furthermore, in June 2024, Krishna Ganpati Devli (67), a retired Water Resources Department officer, lost his life in an accident at the same location.

Despite the series of fatal accidents, citizens have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of preventive measures by traffic authorities to improve road safety.
