Pune: Spherule Foundation and SBI Payment Services Private Limited (SBI Payments) have initiated a CSR program to empower 100 women entrepreneurs from underprivileged backgrounds in Pune District.
This initiative aims to equip participants with essential skills, resources, and financial support to build and expand their small and micro-businesses, fostering long-term sustainability and resilience.
The program includes comprehensive training in financial management, digital tools, entrepreneurship fundamentals, and business planning.
Participants will receive personalized financial assistance and ongoing mentorship from field executives, ensuring continuous guidance and progress monitoring.
The initiative also helps participants access government schemes, secure business licenses, and obtain essential documentation such as Aadhaar, PAN, ABHA cards, and e-Shram cards, thereby simplifying processes and expanding opportunities.
Sujay Kumar Yadav, MD & CEO of SBI Payments, said, "This CSR program reflects our commitment to fostering meaningful change. It’s not just about resources but breaking barriers and empowering dreams. Collaborating with Spherule Foundation allows us to contribute to building a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem for women."
Dr. Geeta Bora, Founder and Director of Spherule Foundation, said, "This partnership with SBI Payments is a significant step toward transforming the entrepreneurial landscape for women in India. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen businesses and create pathways for brighter, independent futures."
A key feature of the initiative is the Business Presentation event, where participants pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts. This platform offers opportunities for funding, professional guidance, and showcasing entrepreneurial talent.
By aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on gender equality, quality education, poverty reduction, and economic growth, the program aims to create a lasting impact by fostering financial independence and resilience among women.
