Pune: A dramatic incident unfolded at the Kondhwa Police Station when a family allegedly created chaos, physically assaulted female police officers, and damaged property, including a printer, while accusing the police of filing a false case against them.
A case has been registered against a young woman, her parents, and her 14-year-old brother for obstruction of government work, physical assault, and property damage. The complaint was lodged by female police constable Shilpa Pawar, who faced manhandling during the incident.
The accused, residents of the Wanawadi Bazaar area, were summoned to the police station after a case was filed against the young woman. On Tuesday (January 14) evening, the woman arrived with her parents and minor brother.
Upon entering the police station, they started creating a commotion and argued with Sub-Inspector Balaji Digoḷe. Female constable Akshaya Bhujbal tried to pacify the situation, but the young woman allegedly bit Bhujbal’s hand, scratched her, and kicked her in the stomach with the help of her mother.
When constable Shilpa Pawar intervened, the accused pushed her and threatened the officers, saying they would complain to the Police Commissioner to have them dismissed. The accused also damaged a printer by throwing it on the floor.
Following the incident, the Kondhwa police filed a case against the four individuals, including the minor, under charges of obstruction of government work, assault, and damage to public property. Sub-Inspector Mohsin Pathan is heading the investigation to determine the complete details of the incident.
