Pune: The grand Shivsrushti project, dedicated to preserving the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to be completed in Baramati within the next few years. This ₹650 crore initiative will be executed in phases and aims to blend ancient and modern elements to showcase the Maratha empire's glorious history.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced the project during the inauguration of a petrol pump by the Baramati Taluka Cooperative Purchase and Sales Union. Pawar expressed his commitment to completing the project, describing it as a cultural milestone for the region.

Pawar stated, "Shivsrushti will be a fusion of historical grandeur and modernity. This project will not only highlight the achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but also serve as an enduring cultural landmark."

Infrastructure and Water Solutions in Focus

During his address, Pawar also discussed the Nira-Canal Lift Irrigation Scheme, which aims to resolve the perennial water scarcity issue in Baramati’s drought-affected regions. Provisions for the scheme will be included in the upcoming state budget, ensuring a permanent solution to water issues in the area.

To ease traffic congestion in Baramati city, plans are underway to develop bypass roads. However, progress has been hindered in certain areas due to local disputes. Pawar called for collective efforts to overcome these challenges and ensure smooth implementation of the projects.

Leadership Accountability Strengthened

In a significant policy announcement, Pawar underlined the importance of financial accountability among institutional leaders. He declared that the responsibility for recovering outstanding dues would rest with the chairpersons and directors who oversaw the transactions. This move is expected to enhance financial discipline and ensure better governance within cooperative institutions.
