Pune: The results of the UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test), required for the position of Assistant Professor in colleges and universities across India, have been officially released.

A total of 53,694 candidates successfully qualified for Assistant Professor positions, according to the results published by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The exam, initially marred by suspicions of a paper leak, was re-conducted, causing millions of candidates to await the final results anxiously. This long wait ended today with the release of the results, bringing relief to aspirants.

The results are available on the official NTA website. Among the successful candidates, 4,970 have also qualified for the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), while 112,070 candidates are now eligible for Ph.D. admissions, in addition to the 53,694 who qualified for Assistant Professor posts.

A total of 684,244 candidates appeared for the UGC NET exam, which was conducted between August 21 and September 4, 2024, across two sessions.

The earlier version of the exam was canceled following suspicions of a paper leak, and the fresh examination was conducted entirely online to maintain security and transparency.

To qualify, candidates from the general category were required to score a minimum of 40%, while candidates from reserved categories such as SC, ST, and OBC had a qualifying mark set at 35%.
