Pune: The Union Budget 2025 has allocated ₹95,000 crore to Maharashtra, accounting for 6.3% of the total national budget, according to BJP National Vice President and Delhi State In-Charge Baijayant Panda. The budget, he said, offers relief to the middle class and continues efforts to reduce poverty across India.
Addressing a press conference in Pune, Panda highlighted the success of welfare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Nal Se Jal, which have significantly improved the lives of millions. The event was attended by BJP State Vice President Madhav Bhandari, Pune City President Dheeraj Ghate, and General Secretary Puneet Joshi.
Government Policies and Their Impact
Responding to concerns over rising education and healthcare costs, Panda acknowledged that government reforms take time to show tangible results. However, he pointed out that:
The Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh per family, benefiting millions.
The government is expanding public education and healthcare infrastructure, ensuring accessibility alongside private institutions.
Extreme poverty in India has fallen below 1%, marking a significant milestone in economic development.
Economic Growth and Maharashtra's Share
