Wagholi: Machete-Wielding Gangs Cause Panic in Weekly Market

Pune: A violent clash between two gangs armed with machetes erupted in Wagholi on Tuesday (December 24), disrupting the weekly market at Avhalwadi Phata and leaving two individuals injured. The incident caused panic among residents who witnessed the chaos unfold in the crowded area.

According to reports, the altercation began when Om Dada Muske and his associates attacked Aditya Deepak Kamble (18) at around 12:10 p.m. near the market ground. In retaliation, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Monya alias Rohan Giri and his group pursued and attacked Yash Manik Shirsat, injuring his leg.

Citizens present during the incident reported seeing the assailants brandishing machetes, leading to widespread fear and confusion. Police confirmed that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, while cases have been filed against 16 individuals, including three minors.

The first complaint was filed by Yash’s mother, Rani Manik Shirsat (35), against Monya alias Rohan Giri, Vaibhav Subhash Pol (19), Aditya Kamble, Aryan Jadhav, Ajay Manjulkar, and two or three unidentified individuals. In a counter-complaint, Aditya Kamble accused Om Dada Muske, Sahil Sudhakar Rathod, Yash Shirsat, Nikhil Kamble, Karan Chavan, and others of involvement in the violence.
