ST CORRESPONDENT

PUNE: The Central Railway (CR) has converted the rakes of Train Number 22105/06 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai-Pune Indrayani Express and Train Number 12169/70 Pune-Solapur Intercity-Express into Linke Hoffman Busch (LHB) rakes permanently.

For the first time, the CR has introduced LHB coach with generator van, which has been modified into second class-cum-generator van, in Indrayani Express. The modified second class-cum-generator van has a capacity of 36 seats. Of these, six seats are earmarked for Divyangs and 30 seats are earmarked for general second class passengers.

The second class seating coaches provided in the new LHB rake have the capacity of 120 seats as compared to 108 seats in the old coaches of conventional rakes, thereby increasing the seating capacity by 12 seats per coach.
