Pune, 2nd December 2025: The draft voter list prepared for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections has drawn more than 9,000 objections, with only day left for citizens and political representatives to submit corrections. The final tally is expected to cross 10,000 before the December 3 deadline.

The city’s draft list includes 35.51 lakh voters, but officials have identified more than 3 lakh duplicate entries. Ten of the 41 wards now have over one lakh voters each, making outreach a significant challenge for aspiring candidates.

Political workers and candidates who examined the draft list reported numerous errors. Initially, only eight days were given to file objections, which many argued was too short. After the deadline was extended, objection submissions picked up pace.

On Sunday alone, 1,746 objections were recorded, with the Nagar Road–Wadgaonsheri office receiving the highest, 708. The Sinhagad Road regional office has logged the most objections overall at 3,640. As of today, the total number of objections stands at 9,370.

Meanwhile, many candidates have been purchasing copies of the voter list to review inaccuracies. Over the past 12 days, these sales have generated ₹16.06 lakh in revenue for the PMC.
