Pune, 4 March 2026: Amid rising tensions in parts of the Middle East, 111 residents from Pune district stranded in Dubai have safely returned home, District Collector Jitendra Dudi confirmed on Wednesday. Efforts are ongoing to repatriate the remaining citizens.
Of the 184 Pune residents identified in Dubai, 111 have already arrived. The flight schedule for 19 passengers has been rescheduled, while arrangements to bring back the remaining 54 residents are actively underway, the administration said.
In light of the ongoing regional situation, the Government of India and the Maharashtra government have issued safety advisories for Indian nationals residing abroad.
Citizens in Palestine (Ramallah), Qatar (Doha), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), Israel (Tel Aviv), Iran (Tehran), Iraq (Baghdad), Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman (Muscat), Jordan, and the UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) are urged to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential travel, and follow instructions from local authorities and Indian embassies.
The Maharashtra government has appealed to its citizens abroad to stay calm, rely only on official sources, and immediately contact Indian diplomatic missions if needed. Coordination is ongoing with the Central government and relevant embassies to ensure the safety of all residents.

Collector Jitendra Dudi urged people to ignore rumours and rely only on official sources. The administration remains on high alert to ensure the safe return of all remaining residents.
