Pune, 6th May 2026: The Pune district administration has decided the compensation rate for land acquisition for the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj International Airport at Purandar. Farmers will receive ₹1,61,01,925 per acre for their land acquired under the project.

District Collector Jitendra Dudi said farmers who agree to hand over their land voluntarily will also receive an additional 10% incentive. Along with this, one member from each affected family will be provided employment.

The administration will begin transferring compensation directly into farmers’ bank accounts through RTGS from May 7. Payments will be made on the same day the agreement is signed.

This process will continue until June 10, after which the remaining land will be acquired through compulsory acquisition if required.

A total of 1,216 hectares of land is being acquired for the Purandar airport project. Land measurement work across seven villages has already been completed. Officials said the compensation rate was decided based on actual land sale transactions in the surrounding areas.

Apart from land compensation, separate valuations will also be carried out for wells, borewells, houses, sheds, and trees on the acquired properties. The administration has decided to provide double compensation for such assets.

Fruit-bearing trees including mango, tamarind, and custard apple will also receive compensation at twice the prevailing market rate.
